Global launch of pleyces: The first social network based on #places

Today, Munich-based start-up pleyces announced the launch of the first location-based social network www.pleyces.com. The free website enables users to network worldwide in regards to places of interest or places already visited.

Travelling to new places, working, or even living abroad involves many uncertainties. It is always great to have a contact on the ground that can help with suggestions and insider tips. pleyces makes these connections happen. Easy access to photos and information about places of interest makes it fun to explore new destinations. The experiences of the user can also be collected and made accessible, through photos and also through a personal map where users can add places they have already visited.

The website is perfect for a number of people: digital nomads can exchange information about the coolest places in the world; backpackers can share where they are and help others finding the best places and deals; campers can find interesting places in their destination; photographers can find extraordinary places and share their best pictures; au pairs can contact other colleagues already living in their destinations while planning their trip; travel bloggers can share their stories and the places they have visited; pilots and stewardesses can show where they have been; students can find the perfect country for a semester abroad etc.

To be able to connect people worldwide in my favourite places has fascinated me. I am pleased to be able to launch pleyces. We will consistently continue developing the functionalities of the app, bearing in mind that simplicity is very important to me. But our first goal now is to convince users worldwide to join us on pleyces.

Martion Bauer, Founder & CEO of pleyces, his 5th difital company

The launch takes place at a difficult time, when many borders have been closed due to the Corona Pandemic. At the same time, nationalism is becoming a barrier to many countries. “Here at pleyces, we strongly believe, especially in these trying times, that it is really important to get to know foreign places, people and cultures,” says Martin Bauer. “This helps to break down prejudices, to foster understanding, and also to create conditions for real global cooperation. Only then, it would be possible to solve big global challenges together.”
